Walker, George H., son of Joseph T. and Dorcas (Bailey) Walker, was born in Brownville in 1859. His parents who
were natives of England, first located in Massachusetts and subsequently in Jefferson county. George H. was educated
in Watertown High School and Wesleyan University of Middletown, Conn., where he graduated in 1881. He studied law
with Mullin & Griffin, and was admitted to the bar in 1884; he was appointed deputy county clerk in 1887. He
was a member of the firm of Mullin, Griffin & Walker from 1892 until the firm dissolved by death of the senior
member in 1897; has been United States Circuit Court commissioner since 1892, and director in the City National
Bank since 1892, and is now a member of the firm of Purcell, Walker & Burns.
