Elwood, E. Elsworth, was born at Fort Plain, Montgomery county, N. Y., June 5, 1861. His first business experience
after leaving the public schools was in the employ of his brother under the firm name of B. H. & E. E. Elwood,
and in 1896 that firm was succeeded by the Elwood Silk Manufacturing Company, with B. H. Elwood as president and
E. E. Elwood as secretary and treasurer. They manufacture all kinds of silk dress goods and give employment to
125 workmen. Mr. Elwood was married June 4, 1884, to Emma L. Wood of Fort Plain, and they have two sons.
