Bertram, N. B., was born April 5, 1859, a son of Edward and Angelica Bertram, natives of Canada. N. B. Bertram
followed the occupation of cook on lake vessels; among others Prince Alfred, Belle Mitchell, L. S. Hammond, Yacht
Mabel and others. He was then engaged in the saloon business for eight years and three years ago established the
leading bakery in Clayton in connection with which he conducts a first class grocery and the best boarding house
in the place. Mr. Bertram is a member of the C. B. L. and Maccabees; he is collector for the C. B. L. and sergeant
in in the Maccabees. He married Carrie Carpenter of Clayton.
