Bersie, E. C.. was born in Adams, February 10, 1849. a son of Edward L. Bersie. Edward L. was engaged in the mercantile business and was a public spirited man, taking an active interest in the leading events of the day. He married Lucretia, daughter of Asa Tarble. E. C. Bersie was educated in Adams and engaged in mercantile business and in 1871 established the firm of Bond, Bersie & Stevens, which continued for three years, when Mr. Bersie withdrew and established himself in business alone. In 1871 he married Emma S., daughter of Mr. Houghton. In 1996 Mr. Bersie was appointed postmaster of Adams, and takes an active interest in school and church work. He is past master of Rising Sun Lodge No. 234, past high priest of Adams Chapter No. 205, and has ever advanced the best interests of his town and town's people.
