Daniel N. Huntington, born at Rochester, Vt., in 1815, came to Malone about 1840 to clerk for William King.
A few years later he removed to Chateaugay, where he engaged in the mercantile business for himself for a time,
and then returned to Malone to become a partner with C. C. Whittelsey in the fou.ndr business. He was also interested
in farming, and at one period was about as extensive a buyer and seller of Malone village real estate as any man
in the town. He was supervisor of Malone for two years, and at one time was the principal practicing justice of
the peace. He was also for many years the leading insurance agent in the county. He died November 18, 1892.
