Biography of Edward Fitch

Edward Fitch was born in Plattsburgh in 1820, and removed to Malone in his young manhood. He was admitted to the bar about 1850, and practiced with his brother-in-law, Ashhel B. Parmelee, until 1858, when he removed to New York city to become the law partner of ex Governor Myron H. Clark, with whom he had formed intimate relations while the latter was Governor and Mr. Fitch member of Assembly. Mr. Fitch was elected to the Assembly in 1854 by a combination of Whigs, Knownothings and temperance forces. He died in New York in 1887.
