Steinbrenner, George H., Amherst, p. o. Williamsville, son of George and Mary (Miller) Steinbrenner, natives of Germany, was born in the town of Amherst, January 14. 1863. He has been engaged in the meat business eleven years, and on February 1, 1892, formed a copartnership with Mr. Abel, under the firm name of Steinbrenner & Abel, of which he is the senior member. May 10, 1888, he married Sophia Britting, and they have three children: Clarence, Allen and Grace Ethel, born March 21, 1897. Mr. Steinbrenner has been trustee of the village for two terms and is chief engineer of the fire department, and a member of the hose company and Odd Fellows.
