Biography of James M. Rowley


Rowley, James M., was born in Buffalo, N. Y., January 1, 1861, where he now resides. After acquiring a liberal education he served a four years' apprenticeship under H. G. Trout of the King Iron Works, and worked as a journeyman for eleven years. In 1884 he accepted a position with the Grape Sugar Company, remaining for a short time, when he again went with the King Iron Works, remaining with them until 1892, when he severed his connection to accept the position of chief engineer of the city hall, which position he still holds.
