Plumley, Edmund J., Buffalo, was born in Canoga, Seneca county, N. Y., October 7, 1845. His education was obtained
from the Middlebury Academy, Genesee Wesleyan Seminary and Genesee College, now Syracuse University. After completing
his college course he engaged in teaching school until the spring of 1867, when he removed to Buffalo and began
the study of law in the office of Parker & Chamberlain. finishing his legal studies, however, in the office
of Hiram C. Day, which he entered in May, 1868, where he remained until he was admitted to the bar in June, 1871.
He remained in this office until February of the following year, when he was offered, without solicitation, the
position of deputy city clerk of the city of Buffalo, which he accepted and held for three years, when he began
the practice of his profession and has since been engaged in active practice. In May, 1894, he formed a copartnership
with Irving W. Cole, under the firm name of Plumley & Cole, which partnership still continues.
