Biography of Mrs. Cordelia Pike (w/o Albert)


Pike, Mrs. Cordelia, East Hamburg, p. o. Orchard Park.-The late Albert Pike was born in the town of Concord, Erie county, N. Y., March 16, 1824. He was educated in the district schools and was a farmer by occupation until 1892, when he conducted a livery business at Orchard Park, and also ran the bus to the station, carrying the United States mail. February 17, 1851, he married Cordelia C. Chamberlin, and they had six children: Lucern F., Aurelia A. and Ousselia A. (twins), Austin A., Lottie L. and Albert A. Lucern married Lora J. Holmes and they have three children, Adelbert A., Jennie and Mabel J. Aurelia A. married George W. Briggs and they have three children, Norman, Grace C. and Ethel: Lottie L. married Thomas Farthing and they have one son, William; Albert A. married Mary Guanac and they have five children, Franklin B., Albert A., jr., George W., Edwin and Florence. Mr. Pike died March 4, 1887. Mr. Pike's father, Isaiah, was born in Plymouth, N. H., in 1788. He married Charlotte Hecox and came to Buffalo in 1812, locating in the town of Concord. They had seven children: Almia, Asbra, Uria, Albert (as above), Sophina C., Cyrenia and Nathaniel. He died in 1866 and his widow in 1868. Mrs. Pike's father, Palmer C. Chamberlin, was born in Massachusetts in 1803. He married Miss Davis and they had four children: Cordelia C. (as above), Franklin F., Chauncy C. and George W. He died in 1865 and his widow in 1873.
