Paxson, Dr. Horace A., Hamburg, was born in the town of Eden, Erie county, N. Y., January 29, 1838, and educated in the public schools. He studied dentistry with C. W. Morse, M. D., and began business on his own account in 1865. August 28, 1862, he enlisted in Co. K, 116th N. Y. Vols., and was honorably discharged July 5, 1865. August 31, 1865, he married Mary A. Kester of his native town, and they have one daughter, Gracia A., who is a student in Hamburg Academy. Dr. Paxson has practiced his profession in several places successfully and came to Hamburg, November 19, 1887. He is a member of the N. J. Swift Post No. 440, G. A. R., Department of New York. His father, George Paxson, was born in Bucks county, Pa., in 1799 and came to this State when fifteen years old, locating in the town of Eden. He married Abigail Brooks, and they had eleven children.
