Biography of Mrs. Caroline Michael (w/o John)


Michael, Mrs. Caroline, East Hamburg, p. o. Reserve.-The late John Michael was born in Hessen, near Frankfort, Germany, in 1831; he was educated there and emigrated to America when sixteen years of age, locating in the town of East Hamburg. In 1855 he married Caroline Reichert, formerly of Baden, Germany, and they had ten children: John G., Louise C., Emma, Phoebe, Charles F., Benjamin, Levi, Liilie M., Ella and Caroline P. J. Ella died in her fifth year; Charles F. married Francis Reppien of Buffalo, and they have one daughter, Caroline; Benjamin married Elizabeth Reichert of Buffalo, and they have two children, Arthur and Mildred; Levi married Anna Haff of Buffalo, and they have one daughter, Frances; Phoebe married Irving Buck of St. Louis, and they have one son, Irving, jr.; Caroline P. J. married Henry Glaney of Gardenville. Mr. Michael died March 18, 1886. Mrs. Michael's father, Jacob Reichert, was born in Baden, Germany, in 1802. He married Caroline Fritz of his native place, and they had five children: George J., Jacob, Charles F., Frederick and Caroline (as above). The family came to the United States in 1847, and located in West Seneca.
