Meyer, Albert W., Buffalo, son of Caspar and Antonette (Hornum) Meyer, was born at Newark, N. J., February 17, 1846. When he was an infant his parents removed to Buffalo, where he has since resided. He attended the public schools and when the war broke out enlisted in the 12th N. Y. Cavalry, serving his country faithfully for two years, and ranking as a corporal when he was discharged. Upon resuming civil life he came to Buffalo and engaged in the butchering business, in which he continued for a number of years. In 1893 he was appointed a stock inspector by the government, which position he still fills. Mr. Meyer is a member of the G. A. R. and C. M. B. A.
