Lowe, B. A., Concord, p. o. Springville, was born in Oneida county, February 19, 1826, and is a son of John Lowe, who was a native of Fitchburg, Mass., and was among the pioneers of the town. John Lowe married Fanny Boutelle, and was a farmer by occupation. In 1841 he moved to Cattaraugus county and died in 1847. B. A. Lowe was educated in the common schools and in 1870 came to Springville and engaged in the insurance business. In 1850 he married Harriet A., daughter of Thomas Pierce, and they had one son and one daughter: Ralph W., who is a graduate of the Rochester University and the Rochester Theological Seminary, and Anna, who died at the age of nineteen. Mr. Lowe was supervisor of Ashford for four years and has been a member of the Board of Education of Griffith Institute.
