Biography of Walter B. Hammond


Hammond, Walter B., Hamburg, was born at Water Valley, July 9, 1866. His parents moved to Buffalo, N. Y., where he was educated in the public schools. He has been a railway man several years, and is now collector and bookkeeper for the Lehigh Valley Railway Company. October 18, 1890, he married Elizabeth F. Kimble, and they have three sons: Courtney K., Earl W. and Ralph S. Mr. Hammond is a member of Fraternal Lodge No. 625, F. & A. M., also the Royal Arcanum, and Business Men's Association. His father, Joseph K. Hammond, was born in the town of Eden, Erie county, February 28, 1842. His early life was spent on a farm, and later he was in the employ of the Lake Shore Railway Company, as a conductor. He married Helen M. Walter, and they had two children: Walter B. and Maud L. Mrs. Hammond died January 15, 1893.
