Biography of Herbert E. Hambleton


Hambleton, Herbert E., East Hamburg, p. o. Orchard Park, was born in the town of East Hamburg, N. Y., March 30, 1861. He was educated in the public schools and is a general merchant with his father. May 28, 1885, he married Flora I. Baker, and they have two Sons: L. Guy and Roscoe L. Mr. Hambleton's father, Christo. phér, was born in the town of Boston, Erie county, N. Y., February 8, 1825. In early life he was a merchant in Buffalo, afterward a farmer. In 1876 he opened a general mercantile business at Orchard Park. where he has continued until now, with his son, Herbert E., as general manager. He held the office of justice of the peace two terms and was postmaster nine years. He served his country in the State militia at Harrisburg, Pa. October 4, 1848, he married Susan J. Hambleton, and they had two children, Hattie (died in her sixth year) and Herbert E. (as above). His father was Samuel, son of Aaron, son of Stephen, son of James, who was the first known ancestor in Bucks county, Pa., in 1751,
