Chandler, Sarah I., East Hamburg, p. o. Orchard Park. - The late Isaac Chandler was born on the homestead near Deuel's Corners, May 25, 1825. His education was obtained in the district schools and he followed the honorable occupation of farming, February 15, 1854, he married Sarah I. Eddy, and they had six children: George W., Joseph, Mary E., Hattie C., Nettie and Alice E. Joseph, Alice and Mary are dead; George W. is the farmer at home for his mother; Nettie is married and lives in Aurora and had two children, Warren, died in infancy, and Walter; Hattie E. married Lincoln Willett and they had one son, Charles. Mr. Chandler was a soldier of the late war at Harrisburg and Elmira, under Colonel Abbott. He died July 12, 1896. His father, Isaac Chandler, was born February 1, 1766, and, married Betsey Turner, and they had two children, Isaac (as above) and Joseph M., who was born August 23, 1829. Mr. Chandler died February 26, 1841; he was a soldier in the Revolutionary war and was honorably discharged. Mrs. Chandler's father, John Eddy, was born in East Hamburg, March 25, 1798. He married Harriet WIlgers of Buffalo, and they had six children: William W., John A., Mary E., Sarah I., Cornelia and Eliza. Mr. Eddy died in 1847 and his wife in 1846.
