Buchwald, Charles, Hamburg, p. o. Lakeview, was born in Buffalo, N. Y., March 21, 1852. His parents moved to
Hamburg, N. Y., the same year, where he was educated in the district schools. He was a section foreman in the employ
of the L. S. & M. S. Railroad for twenty-six years, and one year (1883) on the N. Y. C. & St. L. Railway
as roadmaster. He resigned his position as section foreman and went to farming. February 15, 1876, he married Sarah
S. Leser; they have six children.: Herman C., Julia A., Sarah C., Robert W., George L. and Edward J. Mr. Buchwald's
father, Robert H., was born in Saxony, Germany, December 15, 1829, and came to America in 1850, locating in Buffalo,
and afterwards moved to Hamburg, where he cleared up land and began farming; he married Dorothy Adams, and they
had three sons: Charles, Herman R. and Elmer E. Mrs. Buchwald's father, John Leser, was born in Baden, Germany,
February 12, 1827, and came to America in 1851, locating in Evans, N. Y., where he cleared up land and began farming;
he married Sarah Lesser of Evans, and they had six children: Mary, John, Sarah, Julia, Joseph and Edward.
