Blakeley, Edward C., Aurora, p. o. East Aurora, was born in Aurora on the farm he now owns, July 23, 1852, and is a son of Daniel and Adaline (Case) Blakeley, who was born on the farm the subject owns, and she in Wyoming county, N. Y. The grandfather of Edward Blakeley was Isaac Blakeley, born in Vermont and came to Aurora, N. Y., about 1820 and bought nearly 200 acres from the Holland Land Company. Daniel Blakeley was a Whig and Republican and died in 1886, his wife in 1883. Edward C. Blakeley was reared on the farm and educated in Aurora Academy and Cornell University and is now engaged in farming. He owns 125 acres of land and makes a specialty of fruit and dairying. He was married in January, 1876, to Carrie Husted of Orchard Park, and they have two children, Sherman D. and Elizabeth A. Mr. Blakeley is a Republican in politics, but not an aspirant to office. He is a member of the R. A. of East Aurora, and the family attend and support the Presbyterian church.
