Wood, Israel, a native of England, came to Orange County, N. Y., among the thst settlers, and died there. His
son Daniel also lived and died in Orange County. His children were Israel, William, James, John, Joel, Daniel,
Betsey, and David. Joel Wood was born in Orange County, N. Y., near Bellvale, and died in Warwick aged eighty two.
His wife was Betsey Grey, and their children were Joel, Elizabeth, Eliza, William, Daniel, George, Sarah, Charity,
Mary, Harriet, and Sophronia. Harriet married John Colwell. Their children were : Richard, James H., Daniel, Charlotte,
Sarah M., Debby J., Emily, Susan, Maryette, and Harriet. Mrs. Harriet Colwell married, second, Isaac Hicks, who
died in Chemung aged about eighty. She is still living in Chemung Center on the Sweet farm, which she has owned
and occupied for fifteen years.
