Smith, William K., was born in Erin, March 7, 1845, and by occupation was a farmer. March 8, 1862, he enlisted
in Company I, One Hundred and Third New York Infantry Volunteers, and was honorably discharged at the close of
the war. He was married four times, his first wife being Mary E. Van Wort, whose only child was a son, George.
For his second wife he married Hannah M. Grinnell, and they had four children, of 'whom one died in infancy and
three survive: Bertha E, Harry J., and Hattie S. His third wife was Susie Weaver and his fourth was Mary A. Kingsbury,
of Boston, Mass. This last marriage occurred October 17, 1889. His father, John Smith, born near Breesport, married
Susan Davies, of Orange County, and they had eight children: Benjamin, George, William K., Charles, Henry, Sarah,
Mary J., and Frederick. William K. Smith is deceased.
