Coykendall, Edward H., born in New Jersey, November 2, 1860, received a commercial education. The family moved to Elmira in 1871, and in September, 1885, he began work for the Northern Central Railroad Company as train agent, which position he still holds. August 10, 1884, he married Florence H., only daughter of James C. and Sarah A. Mayer. They have one son, Walter J., born September 26. 1885. His father, Andrew J., was born in Newtown, N. J., about 1836. He married Sally J. Bonnell, of Montague, Sussex County, N. J., by whom he had seven children, three of whom died in infancy, William was killed in 1877, and three survive, as follows: Isaac, Jacob, and Edward H.
