ROBERT P. MORRISON - But three decades of life have passed over the head of It. P. Morrison, of Johnson City,
New York, but they have been years of development for the young man, his experiences including service in France
with the American Expeditionary Forces, during which he won the rank of sergeant, and years of association with
the Vulcan Last Company, during which he has won the rank of manager of the Johnson City plant, operated by that
company. His entire business life has been spent with the Vulcan Last Company, and, but for his war record, his
service would have been continuous.
Robert P. Morrison, son of Frazier M. and Sarah (Raleigh) Morrison, was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, January 18, 1892,
his father a farmer of Cherry Forks, Ohio. Frazier M. Morrison was educated in public schools, finishing with graduation
from Cherry Forks (Ohio) High School. Later he pursued a special course of study in Portsmouth, Ohio. In 1911 he
entered the employ of the Vulcan Last Company of Portsmouth as bookkeeper, continuing until his enlistment in the
United States army in 1917. He served with the 308th Ammunition Train during the war with Germany, 1917-18, and
from the fact that he was an experienced bookkeeper, he was detailed for clerical duty. He went overseas, saw service
in France, and returned at the close of the war with the rank of sergeant.
Upon his return from the army Mr. Morrison reentered the employ of the Vulcan Last Company, going for about one
year to one of the branch factories in Wisconsin. The next year (1919) the company established a branch factory
in Johnson City, New York, and he was sent there as resident manager, and at that plant continues (January, 1923).
About eighty employes are required at the plant which serves the company's customers with lasts in all the territory
between Southern Massachusetts and Portsmouth Ohio.
Robert P. Morrison married, September 3, 1920, Rosamond Lanctot, daughter of Alfred and Philomene (Parades) Lanctot,
of Haverhill, Massachusetts. Mr. Morrison is a member of the Presbyterian church.
