ALBERT GURDON LOOMIS, JR., restaurant proprietor of Deposit, New York, ranks among the business men there as a man of action and of achievement. Mr. Loomis was born there February 16, 1898 His father, Albert G. Loomis, was a dealer in horses and a well known citizen.

The education of Albert G. Loomis, Jr., was obtained in the public schools, and he began to make his own way at an early age. The World War claimed his services and temporarily broke the general trend of affairs; he was in service for two years, as a member of the 2Mth Aero Squad for six months; later was transferred to the Paris headquarters of the air service, where he remained until discharged. Upon his discharge, he returned to Deposit and soon afterwards purchased a restaurant and has since been engaged in this business. He has been very successful, and the reputation of the high quality of food served has extended beyond Deposit; in every way Mr. Loomis endeavors to create a home atmosphere, which is one of the most important factors in that line of work. He is prominent in public matters; is a member of the Masons, and of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.

On June 30, 1920, Mr. Loomis married, at Deposit, Frances Elizabeth Gill, born there March 29, 1898, daughter of Leroy and Edith (Post) Gill. Mr. and Mrs. Loomis attend the Episcopal church, and both are active in the work of this institution.
