WILLIAM T. WHITE, farmer, was born in Whiting, Vermont. in 1814. At the age of twenty-three he moved to Booneville,
Oneida county, New York, where he remained until 1824, working at the carpenter trade. Here he married a Miss Eliza
Cook, who has been his helpmate through life, sharing with him his privations and his prosperity. He moved west
to Michigan, where he took up a claim near where the present city of Adrian now stands. He remained here until
1850, when he sold his farm and stock for a handsome figure and went farther west prospecting, and chose the Whitewater
valley as his future home. He has now one of the finest farms in the town, and though well advanced in years takes
an active part in its management. He is much respected by all who know him, and is looked upon as one of those
men whose word is as good as his bond. Until the commencement of the war Mr. White was a strong democrat, but since
that time has been a thorough republican.
