Martin Westby, in former years an industrious farmer of Yucatan township, was born in Norway, and was a young
man of 23 years when he came to America and settled in Fillmore county, Minnesota. After residing there a few years,
he came to Houston county, taking land on Oak Ridge, Yucatan township. There he developed a farm and resided until
his death, Jan. 29, 1909. He married Martha Kosa, who, like himself, was born in Norway, and who is still living
on the homestead. They were the parents of 13 children, of whom their son, Oscar, is
now a prosperous farmer in Sheldon township.
