W. G. Sawyer was born in Ohio, in 1847. He came to Iowa when seven years of age, and there lived until 1874,
then came to Minnesota and settled in Minneapolis, and was a dealer in agricultural implements for five years.
In the meantime he purchased a farm in Green Vale, which he rents. In 1880 he bought an addition near the Northfield
line, on which he is erecting some fine buildings. Being engaged in the Minneapolis Harvester Works as traveling
agent, his wife oversees the farm during his absence. His marriage with Miss Celestia T. Mott took place in 1874.
