H. Pryor was born April 4th, 1838, in New Brunswick. Here he was reared and educated. In April, 1856, he came
to Green Vale township, Dakota county, where his father pre-empted one hundred and sixty acres, being one of the
early settlers. Mr. Pryor enlisted, the summer of 1862, in the Eighth Minnesota, under Colonel Thomas; was two
years on the frontier, one year in the south, and was discharged from the hospital in June, 1865. The next year
he purchased his present farm, and has made many improvements. Married in 1871, to Miss Lizzie King, a native of
England. Their children are: Gertrude L., Frederick C. Henry L and William T.
