Samuel Norrish, of the firm of Thorne and Norrish, druggist, was born in Devonshire, England, November 2d, 1818.
He engaged as atiller of soil until 1873. Immigrated at that time to the, United States, and has since been a resident
of Hastings, being principally interested in wheat speculation. He has a grain elevator on the Hastings and Dakota
division of the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul railway. In November, 1878, he became a partner in the present
firm. In 1847, married Mary A. Fisher, of England. Their living children are, Alfred F., John F., Frank F., Ellen
F.and Kate M.
