Catherine McLaughlin, widow of John McLaughlin, was born in county of Mayo, Ireland, in 1826. In 1851, located
at Syracuse, New York, and there made her home six years. She then came west as far as Freeport, Illinois, and
two years later came to Minnesota. Her claim in Dakota county was made after her arrival. She was made a widow
by the death of her husband October 16th, 1872. Seven children have been born to her, three sons and four daughters.
