Frank Leonard was born in Foxborough, Massachusetts, April 10th, 1857. While yet a child he moved with his parents
to St. Paul, Minnesota. Here he acquired his education, completing it at Franklin high school. He afterward entered
the St. Paul and Manitoba railroad shops, continuing nearly four years; then in the Hannibal and St. Joseph railroad
car shops, at Hannibal, Missouri, remaining nearly two years. During his experience in the shops; he acquired the
trade of car building. En the summer of 1878, came to Burnsville and took the farm of one hundred and sixty acres
which his father had owned for some time, and has since devoted his entire attention to agriculture, in partnership
with his brother Edwad. They have also six hundred and twenty acres at Morris.
