Michael Hoffman was bo:n in Luxemburg, November 16th, 1852. Was telegraph operator in his native country, and
in 1871, came to America, proceeding to Dubuque, Iowa, remaining until 1874. At that tune came to Hastings to locate,
choosing the liquor trade as a means of livelihood. Married in Hastings, in 1877, to Miss Susie Kohler; Peter and
Katie are their living children.
