Patrick Foley was born in New York July 4th, 1840, and is of Irish parentage. When a child of seven years, he
accompanied his parents to McHenry county, Illinois, where he attended school. In 1856, he, in company with the
family, came to Minnesota and located on a farm. He and his brother Mike have purchased land and continued adding
to the original, owning at presenttbree hundred and sixty acres. In 1865, Miss Mary Cleary became his wife. John.
Patrick, Thomas, Ann, Michael, Peter and Maria are their children. Mr. Foley's parents still reside with him, and
are now well advanced in years.
