Peter Doffing was born in Prussia, February 20th, 1844. When a child of one year came to America with his parents
and located in Wisconsin. In 1855, came to Hampton, Dakato county, Minnesota, with his father who purchased one
hundred and sixty acres. In 1869, Peter bought a farm in Goodhue county, which he sold in 1874, and located on
his present farm in Douglass. Married January 27th, 1869, to Miss Margaret Smitch, a native of Prussia. Katie,
John, Charles and Mary are their children. Mr. Doffing's farm comprises seven hundred acres, which is well improved
and stocked. He gives considerable attention to raising and breeding Norman horses from imported stock.
