E. Barry, a native of county Kilkenny, Ireland, was born in 1820. Caine to America in April, 1846, landing in
Quebec. He lived in that city seven years, then removed to St. Paul, Minnesota. After making his home there more
than year, he removed to Eagan township, and took a government claim of one hundred and sixty acres. Here he has
since lived. His wife was Miss Ann Grant, a native of Ireland, whom he married in 1845. Patrick, Michael, Edmond,
Stephen, James, John, Thomas and Joseph are their surviving children.
