VIVIAN, John D.; born, Stratford, Ont., Can., Aug. 16, 1855; son of Charles and Ann (Dingle) Vivian; educated Stratford public schools; married, Dec. 2, 1892, Stella Cheney, of Lansing, Mich. Came to United States, 1871, and entered carriage business for self at Battle Creek, Mich.; removed to Detroit, 1889, and continued in same business, 1889-98; in carriage business in Minneapolis, Minn., 1898-1911; returned to Detroit and associated with W. S. Bailey in organizing the Punctureless Tire Co., of Michigan, of which is partner; director Physicians' and Surgeons' Supply Co., National Oil Burner Co., both of Minneapolis. Republican. Episcopalian. Member Detroit Board of Commerce, Minneapolia Chamber of Commerce. Club: Commercial (Minneapolis). Recreation: fishing. Office: 1195 Woodward Ave. Residence: 744 Cass Avenue.
