VERNOR, Frank A., insurance; born, Marshall, Mich., Oct. 7, 1858; son of John Taylor and Emily Adelia (Phelps) Vernor; educated in common schools and for 2 years in Albion College; married at Litehfield, Mich., May 1, 1889, Elsie C. Shepard; children: Richard E., F. Dudleigh. Admitted to Calhoun County bar, 1879; engaged in the insurance business at Battle Creek and Kalamazoo, Mich., until jan. 1, 1886; came to Detroit in 1886 as special agent and adjuster for the Sun Fire Office; in 1887, appointed special agent for Springfield Fire and Marine, Queen Insurance companies, and Guardian Assurance Co.; in 1888, became special agent and adjuster for the Queen Insurance Co. Republican. Methodist. Member Gideons. Recreations: Bible study, trout fishing. Office: 33 Congress St. W. Residence: Fuller Hotel.
