VAN ZANDT, A. Dexter B.; born, St. Marys, Ont., Canada, May 9, 1868; son of James H. and Mary A. (Macpherson) Van Zandt; educated in public schools, Leamington, Ont.; St. Marys Collegiate Institute, Ont.; Ottawa Normal School, Ont.; married, Nov. 10, 1896, Abbie Hibbard, of Detroit; 3 children: Marjorie Alice, Kathleen Eugenie, Bonar Alice. Taught school in Ontario for 5 years; came to Detroit, 1891; engaged in newspaper work, Detroit Tribune and Detroit News, as city editor of each paper; in charge of advertising department Detroit United Lines since 1906. Republican. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Mason. Clubs: Felloweraft, Detroit Motor Boat, North Channel, Detroit Curling, Adcraft. Recreations: yachting and curling. Office: 12 Woodward Ave.
