VAN WAGONER, Milton A., proprietor Detroit Music Co.; born, Oxford, Mich., Nov. 11, 1843; son of Alfred and Betsey (Travis) Van Wagoner; graduate high school, Oakland County, Mich., 1869; held state teachers' certificate and taught school for three years at Goodrich, Genesee Co., Oxford and Lakeville, Oakland Co.; married at Detroit, 1899, Phyllis Clark. Entered music business, 1870, and was partner with C. J. Whitney, Chicago, two years, and at Lapeer, Mich., until 1892, when he bought out the Detroit Music Co. Served as private, Co. I, 14th Michigan Volunteer Infantry, at the time of the Civil Was. Republican. Member Masonic order, Knights of Pythias. Recreation: fishing. Office: 288 Woodward Ave. Residence: 122 Erskine St.
