VAN SYCKLE, Raymond E., lawyer; born, Bay City, Mich., Aug. 24, 1868; son of Givens E. and Sophia D. (Clemans) Van Syckle; graduated Bay City High School, 1887; B.S., University of Michigan, 1891, post graduate course, 1893-95, M.S., 1895; LL.B., Law Department, same university, 1895; unmarried. Was secretary G. E. Van Syckle Co, Bay City, 1887-95; member of faculty St. Cyrillus and Methodius College, Detroit, 1896-1906; teacher and principal Detroit public night schools, 1900-6; principal Central Evening High School, since 1906. Engaged in general practice of law since 1895; now practicing alone. Member Association Bar City of Detroit, Michigan State Bar Association. Republican. Member Wayne County Republican Committee, Second Ward Republican Committee (chairman), Board of County Canvassers; has been delegate to state and county conventions. Member Sons of American Revolution (secretary and member board of managers Michigan State Society). Clubs: Fellowcraft, University of Michigan Club (treasurer), Lawyers' (secretary).
