VAN ALSTYNE, John S., Jr., vice president Peninsular Engraving Co.; born Wyandotte, Mich., Jan. 22, 1869; son of John S. and Helen (Folger) Van Alstyne; educated public schools of Wyandotte and Detroit; married, June 12, 1897, Belle Watkins, of Wyandotte; 1 son, John S., Jr. Resident of Detroit since 1889; began active career with the Aldine Printing Co., continuing 1 year; with Winn & Hammond, printers, 1891-95; one of organizers and vice president of the Peninsular Engraving Co. since 1895. Republican. Congregationalist. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Mason. Recreation: automobiling. Office: corner Erskine and Woodward Ayes. Residence: 75 Josephine Ave.
