VALPEY, Lewis N.; born, Lynn, Mass., July 6, 1854; son of Joseph H. and Abbie (Fielding) Valpey; grammar school education; married, St. John, N. B., June, 1876, Ella Gerrow; one daughter, Edna Gertrude. Served apprenticeship in father's shoe factory; entered retail shoe business at St. John, N. B.; came to Detroit, 1884, and engaged as Valpey Shoe Co. until 1901, when sold out; since in real estate business and in charge of Valpey Bldg. and Woodward Arcade. Republican. Baptist. Member New England Society of Detroit. Club: Bloomfield Hills Country. Office: Woodward Arcade. Residence: 26 Edison Ave.
