VALADE, Malcolm Gurvis; born, Kings. yule, Ont., Can., May 22, 1880; son of Dominique and Sarah (Bailey) Valade; educated public schools of Essex County, Can.; married, June 17, 1903, Elizabeth Workman, of Detroit; 3 children: Charlotte Sarah, Ruth May, Russell Alger. Lived on farm until 19 years of age; came to Detroit, 1900, worked for Leland & Faulkner, foundrymen, 1900-1; then with Rowley scale Co. for 13 months; in charge of shop of H. E. Hatcher, butchers supplies, 1901-9; started in business for self, with brothers, as Detroit Butcher Supply Co., 1909. Methodist. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Mason. Recreations: outdoor sports. Office: 451-453 Gratiot Ave. Residence: 255 Euclid Ave.
