UPINGTON, Henry Vincent, casualty insurance; born, Cork, Ireland, Nov. 14, 1874; son of Samuel Fleming and Mary (Lambkin) Upington; nephew of the late Sir Thomas Upington, prime minister of Cape Colony; educated private schools, London, Eng., and St. George's College, Weybridge; unmarried. Came to America, 1888; began with local in. surance agency at New Rochelle, N. Y.; became connected with Fidelity & Casualty Co. of New York, 1898, and now resident manager for the company, in Michigan; member firm of Benson & Upington. Roman Catholic. Member Board of Commerce, Casualty Underwriters' Association, Plate Glass Underwriters' Association (chairman board). Recreations: music and water sports. Office: 617-721 Hammond Bldg. Residence: 608 Cass Ave. (The Chesterfield).
