OWNS, Charles Councilman, district manager Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Co.; born, Annapolis, Md., Dec. 31, 1877; son of Joseph R. and Gertrude E. (Councilman) Owens; educated in public and high schools and Columbia University, degree of B.S., 1897; married, Aug. 15, 1908, Mary A. Glynn, of New York; 3 children: Mary G., Charles J., Norman G. Began active career with the Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Co., starting as engineer at Pittsburgh, Pa., 1897; went to New York as sales engineer for the company, 1903, and continued until 1912; has been district manager same company at Detroit since Jan. 1, 1912. Member Pennsylvania Militia 3 years. Independent in politics. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Member Detroit Engineering Society, American Institute of Electric Engineers. Club: Detroit Athletic. Recreations: hunting, fishing and yachting. Office: 12th floor Dime Savings Bank Bldg. Residence: 2871 East Grand Boul.
