NEWBERRY, Lewis, president Newberry Baking Co.; born, Rochester, Mich, Jan. 6, 1859; son of George and Minnie J. (Bemis) Newberry; educated public schools, Detroit; married, 1898, Addie Ohl, of Grand Rapids, Mich. Began active career with Shiawasse Paper Co. (father's business) paper manufacturers, continuing 4 years; then went to Buffalo as passenger trainman on Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh R. R.; returned to Detroit, 1888, and was with the Morton Baking Co., 18 years; in business on own account, since 1906, as the Newberry Baking Co., wholesale bread bakers, of which is president and manager. Mason (Ashlar Lodge and Peninsular Chapter); member Odd Fellows. Club: Detroit Motor Boat (vice commodore, 1913). Recreations: automobiling, motor boating. Office: 1372 14th Ave. Residence: 1374 14th Ave.
