Y., Nov. 1, 1887; son of John Richard and Sarah Adelia (Gray) Jones; educated in grammar and high schools, Torrington, Conn., graduating June, 1905; University of Michigan, Department of Engineering, graduating June, 1910, with degree of B.C.E.; unmarried. Assistant instructor in civil engineering, University of Michigan, 1909-10; recorder, United States Lake Survey, 1910-11, junior engineer same since Aug., 1911. Progressive. Congregationalist. Member Detroit Engineering Society, Sigma Xi. Member Sanquoit Lodge No. 150, F. & A. M.; corresponding member of Quatuor Coronati Lodge No. 2076, F. & A. M., of London, Eng.
