JARVIS, William Brown, merchant; born,. Brantford, Ont., July 8, 1866; son of Joseph and Eliza (Brown) Jarvis; educated in public schools, Brantford; Forest City Business College, London, Ont.; married, Aug. 12, 1907, Minnie R. Evans, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; 3 children: Lewis A., Bernice M., Beatrice C. Bookkeeper for E. G. Studley, sporting goods, bicycles and mill supplies, 1886-89; engaged as traveling salesman for same firm, 1889-91, manager, 1891-95, junior partner under title of Studley & Jarvis, 1896-98; succeeded to business, 1898; organized W. B. Jarvis Co., Detroit and Grand Rapids, 1902, and is president and general manger same. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Republican. Episcopalian. Clubs: Wolverine Auto, Detroit Motor Boat, Detroit Athletic, Rotary. Recreations: shooting, fishing. Office: 237-239 Woodward Ave. Residence: The Lenox.
