(Perkins) Colby; graduated high school, Dowagiac, 1880; married, Detroit, Apr. 11, 1899, Frances Berry; 5 children: Thomas B., Horace F., Frederick L., Jr., Elizabeth H., Edward P. Began business at Dowagiac, with the Colby Milling Co., 1880; left there, 1900, to become connected with Berry Bros., Ltd., varnish manufacturers, Detroit, of which is purchasing agent and assistant secretary; also vice president Desmond Charcoal & Chemical Co., Welded Steel Barrel Corpn.; director New York Car Wheel Co., Northern Charcoal & Chemical Co.; secretary Detroit Heating & Lighting Co., O. & W. Thum Co. Director Ford Republic. Republican. Presbyterian. Member Knights of Pythias. Clubs: Detroit, Detroit Athletic, Detroit Boat, Detroit Motor Boat. Recreation: automobiling. Office: Berry Brothers, Ltd., Lieb and Wight Sts. Residence: 188 Parker Avenue.
