CLARK, Seward E., music business; born, Springfield, Oakland County, Mich., Jan. 10, 1863; son of Reuben N. and Elizabeth (Polhemus) Clark; educated Clarkston (Mich.) High School; married, Sept. 18, 1889, Myrta D. West, of Clarkston, Mich.; 1 daughter, Mary W. Began active career as clerk American B. H. O. & Sewing Machine Co., 1882; manager for the company at Cincinnati, 1888-92; entered piano business in Detroit as president The S. E. Clark Co., 1892; sold out May, 1903, to Grinnell Bros. and entered employ of the firm as general manager of branch stores; now director, secretary and general manager Grinnell Bros., Incorporated; also director and secretary Grinnell Realty Co. Republican. Congregationalist; president Michigan Congregational Brotherhood. Mason, K. T. Recreation: reading. Office: 243-247 Woodward Ave. Residence: 43. Chandler Ave.
